+Joypa Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Following under the category of "duh" to some of you, I'd like to know how to post the cache site references. You know, the ones you just click on and you're at the cache page. Before answering I admit (1) I am not that computer savvy (2) I am too lazy to find out any other way and (3) I have no friends. Stony2008 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I dont really understand what you mean when you say references. do you mean on the forums or what? Quote
+Joypa Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 Yeah. Where somebody says " I visited ----- cache" and you click on the ----- and go to the cache listing. Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 On the forums, there is a button that says "http://" just above where you're typing for entering the url of wherever you want to link to. On a cache page, you have to use HTML, which is a pain in the butt for most people. I recomend the cache page editor at geomunity.net Quote
+IV_Warrior Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 If you want to post them to the forums, go to the cache page, copy the URL of the cache. When posting your forum message, look above the box you're typing in. There's a "http://" button. Click that. First box will be for the URL, enter it and hit "ok" another box pops up, put in the text you want displayed, hit "ok". Finish typing your message Quote
Stony2008 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 oh go to the cache page you want to link and look at the top where it tells you where your at (like where you type in www.geocaching.com) and copy that (or remember it). then when you go to add a reply, right above where you start typing your reply, click on the http:// botton where you want the link. paste the www.geocaching.com thing here then type whatever you want it to say. you can test it here Quote
