Hermanm Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 How can I download all the latest South African Geocache Waypoints to my computer for downloading to my GPS? I have a Garmin Legend and MapSource plus Garmap, and normally needs map files in .mps format. Herman. Quote
+GlobalRat Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 You can download the waypoints per province in mps or ozi format from my website GlobalRat.com I have added a download for the whole of SA, and this will probably come online later today or tomorrow morning. Alternatively you can download all the *.loc files from GC. You'll need to do this for each page. Alternatively you can become a premium member and create a pocket query (PQ) to download all the waypoints in *.GPX format and then use something like GSAK or GPSBabel to convert to *.mps Quote
Hermanm Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Thanks for the info. I don't know if I do something wrong, but I cannot get to / download the waypoints for MapSource (not available / error)?? Herman. Quote
+GlobalRat Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 mmm... welcome to the world of wonder. Seems that IE isn't happy with weird extensions. I've zipped them and also added the waypoint file for SA. All working. Quote
Hermanm Posted April 3, 2005 Author Posted April 3, 2005 Thanks, it is working now! How often do you update. I see it is quite up to date now! Herman. Quote
+GlobalRat Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 How often do you update. I see it is quite up to date now!Herman. 2/3 times per week, depending on the activity that has taken place. Also note that the SA list includes caches which are currently unavailable, whereas the provincial lists only include caches which are active. Quote
