cache_test_dummies Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 EOM Hmm. Gc.com Down/slow? And in an effort to help keep the server load light, you've decided to submit only three character posts? OK!
caderoux Posted March 18, 2005 Author Posted March 18, 2005 EOM EOM is short for End Of Message I only ask because I just posted a log, and then all of sudden it seemed to die - I'm not seeing anything else wrong with my connection here, and I didn't see any other posts or announcements of downtime.

Jeremy Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 No. Everything looks fine. If it is here in the forums, occasionally there is a freeze as it backs up the millions of posts here.
caderoux Posted March 19, 2005 Author Posted March 19, 2005 It was not here - only the main site, and the problem was persistent from just before the time of my original post, through my reply and a while thereafter. I returned after an hour and a half or so, and it was no longer happening. At one point there was a timeout error waiting for the database. Given the symptoms, it looked a lot like the db was tied up with something like backup or batch query operation which had locked a large number of records or a table.
Stuey Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 At one point there was a timeout error waiting for the database. I had exactly the same. Surprised no-one else noticed? The "My account" page eventually took me to a page where I could specify co-ords for a search, and it has done that several times before. I'll keep a log of times if that will be helpful?
