If you are willing to give a general home base for yourself (first 3 digits of postal code?), maybe some of the area cachers can chime in with some of their favourite caches nearby. As for the mutlis, you will need to be able to maintain each stage, so if you spread them all over, you will need to be able to get all over if there is a problem reported... In time, you may find a cacher you bond with and hang out with a lot who would be willing to help you with the driving... It may be a good idea to check out some of the higher-rated traditional hides (I know you don't like 1/1's ) to see what you like and what you don't, and then place traditionals for now, so you are sure to be able to maintain them.
