Garmin Legend And Mac Osx?

Hey all. I'm new here, and to geocaching in general.

In fact, I'm going to buy my first GPS reciever this weekend! But before I do so, I have a question or two.

I'm looking at the Garmin Legend. It's within my budget, I like the internal street map (I plan on doing mainly city caches, starting in Seattle where I live), and I like that it can interface with a computer.

Now, the question - Is there a way to connect it up to a Macintosh G4 Powerbook running OSX WITHOUT Virtual PC? I'd rather not load that in my Mac, if I can help it, and I'd love to be able to sync it up without using that app. If it's something that I have to run on teh FreeBSD command-line level, that's fine. I just don't like Virtual PC.

(If not, I can just connect it up to my old Dell running Win 2000 Pro, but I'd rather use the shinier, faster, prettier Mac.)

If this has been covered before, please point me to that topic.

Many thanks,

C-ko

Thanks for the answer!

In thinking about it and doing more research, I decided that it's a moot point for now. I went ahead and ordered one of the Garmin Geko 101 GPS's from Outpost. (I saw the low price, and decided that I really couldn't pass up a deal like that. It's on backorder, but it'll get sent out on the 29th)

But this is definitely useful for the future.

Thanks again,

C-ko
