brodster7227
Hello, I am a new user and have had my GPS for about a week. Didn't take long to get addicted! My question is this. I purchsed a eTrex yellow from amazon for $80 and when I recieved it they actually sent me a Garmin GPS72. Did I get a good deal on this. I can't find any forums are info on the GPS72 on this site. It seems like I did but would like some input on the experienced ones Thanks Quote Link to comment
peter
Definitely a good price for a GPS72. Lots of additional features over the basic eTrex: better screen, cursor keypad, POIs, WAAS, probably better reception, audible alarms, better tracklogs and more routes, etc. About the only downside is that it's much larger. +Couparangus
Given the GPS72 is worth 50% more than the eTrex yellow I think you made out very well, indeed! Welcome to Geocaching - the best excuse for exercise in the outdoors that I've found. :-) C-A Quote Link to comment
+Rubberhead
You got a great deal. Do you think if I try the same thing, I'd get a GPS 72? One other advantage is that the GPS 72 also has tidal predictions. Quote Link to comment

medoug
You can go here to compare the features of the two models: Garmin models comparisons I would say that you definitely lucked out. Doug. Quote Link to comment
+texarado
You definately go a good deal! I have a gps 72 and i cost me about 150$. It has a lot more functions than the basic Etrex. It is kinda big but it works great. Quote Link to comment
