+fat_robin
Hi! I just bought a used Magellan SporTrak Pro and am having a heckuva time getting it to communicate with my PC. Need some advice! - the cable is serial. My laptops have only USB. So I purchased a serial-to-USB cable, and still nothing. I have Windows XP pro, SP2, on a Dell Latitude C400 - I REALLY want to use this with Streets and Trips from Microsoft -- can I assume this will work OK if I ever get this thing to talk to my PC? I'm sure I'll have more questions. Can anyone help? Refer me to another BBS? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Escapades
They should work fine together. Check Baud rate make sure they are the same for each device. May want to post this in the GPS Units and Software forum. Someone will have the answers you need. Mike Quote Link to comment
+reveritt
I have a sporttrak Pro, and it communicates with no problem. I had to change the GPS setup to make sure it wasn't talking in NMEA, but that requirement depends on what program you are using. What software are you using on the PC? Quote Link to comment
