+spyder8
One thing I noticed in reviewing the .LOC file format vs the inclusive .GPX format... Why does the .LOC format use the simple cache name... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCK80J and the GPX format uses an abstract object name http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...1a-e523ab819021 Link to comment
+HHL
downloading a simple gpx-file from the cache site results as GCXXXX.gpx at my disk. happy hunting. Link to comment
+Hemlock
What difference does it make? They both end up at the same place. Link to comment
+spyder8
The difference is for an application that strips out the URL. With the LOC it is obvious that the URL matches the cache name, but with the GPX it is a puzzle - So - if you are cutting and pasting the URL for the cache, it is much easier with the cache name vs the cache object.... And since they get you to the same place, why doesn't Geocaching.com just keep it simple and use the cache name in the URL - Link to comment
