+graveyard mom
Ok, for someone who has never hunted, knows noone who hunts, and is still fairly new to the area-how do I find out of it is hunting season and where people hunt around here for the Middle Tennessee area, especially southern middle????? I've been wearing my bright orange UT jersey when we go caching anywhere near woods, but I'd love to know places that maybe we should avoid for the time being! thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Spencersb
The Tennessee Anytime Website has the information on statewide hunting seasons here. County specific information us usually buried in the text somewhere. Deer season is the main one you have to worry about, and it runs until pretty much mid-January. Quote Link to comment
+Erissa
Go to Walmart or any sporting goods store where hunting licenses are sold. They have each years guidelines, laws and season dates in one handy booklet. Regardless of the season, I always wear orange--I have a orange camo boonie hat--to protect me. I believe anyone down here (the south) knows of at least one group of people who would shoot anything that moved in the woods, regardless of whether it was in season or not. Quote Link to comment
+graveyard mom
Thanks-and thanks for the link. Next time we plan to grab some in woods that aren't a city park, we will definitely be stopping by Walmart. And I'll keep wearing my Big Orange jersey while out too! Quote Link to comment
