+Tinpanharry
I have a Garmin 5 on loan from a friend and cannot figure out how to enter waypoints? I feel very dumb right not but have played with this thing for over a day. The friend cannot find the manual and has not used it much, so can't explain it well? Can anyone help? Alphawolf
Going on memory here...Press and hold the lower left (enter) button(assuming you have it in "horizontal" mode...Bottom right if vertical) to "mark" your waypoint. Then you can edit the coordinates it gives you from there if you need to change the position you marked to a new one (say... a geocache you are about to go find!) Quote Link to comment
+snowd
You can find that manual for the GPS V on Garmin's site, from which you can download the manual for the unit. Am providing the link for the GPS V here. Click on the manuals link and from there download the manual for reference. Quote Link to comment
+Cache Viking
Just looked at the face of my V and it is as Alphawolf said. Press and hold the Enter button then edit the coordinate numbers to be the ones you want to put in. You can see the Garmin V Manual here Owners Manual for Garmin V EDIT: a little slow typing today. What snowd said. Edited November 13, 2004 by Cache Viking Quote Link to comment
+Tinpanharry
Thanks to all who helped. I found that the problem was the data format used for Longitude and Latitude in the setup for the GPS V. Once I figured that out I could begin to learn! TinPan Quote Link to comment
