Steamdonkey
Help! I'm trying to organize a corporate event and need to rent 10 GPS units for a day. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm located in Kansas City, so shipping them to and from here may be the only/best option. thanks, Eric Quote Link to comment

peter
Since you're in Kansas City I'd think it might be worth a call to that little outfit about 15 miles south of you in Olathe named Garmin. See if they have a few units to spare in the interest of good corporate relations and publicity. Quote Link to comment
Steamdonkey
I tried REI. I've tried Google. I found one outfit in Arizona with 5 units, but I need 10. Tried calling Garmin just to my south :-) but so far no luck there, but I haven't given up. Still, my deadline is fast approaching, and if anyone has any other ideas, please keep them comming. thanks, Eric Quote Link to comment
+Cherokeecacher
You might try posting a plea in the regional forums, also check for a local Geocaching organization website. Some kind soul(s) may offer to loan their units for the day. The down side of this is the possibility of 10 different units, 10 different instructions, and 10 different owners to return them to. Just an idea...I did not claim it was a good one Quote Link to comment
+junglehair
You could try calling the geography department of local colleges. There are a couple around here (western NY) that have GPS units available for their students. NYGO (New York Geocaching Organization) has been able to borrow them a couple times for training events that we've held. Quote Link to comment
+MrsCajun
Some Girl Scout and Boy Scout Councils may have some available to rent or borrow... I'm in Texas and I'd like to do a geocaching event for my city's Girl Scouts. Unfortunately, our council doesn't have any GPS units, so I'm in the same boat as you, only I'd probably need 25 units. If you find a source for large numbers of the same kind at once, please let me know. Quote Link to comment

People will bring their GPS's and also be available to help mentor..etc. Quote Link to comment
