Hi All,

 

I just wanted to put up a general thank you to all of those who have caches in Sanford and surrounding areas in Fl. I was there this weekend and did the following:

 

8 Traditional Finds

1 Puzzle

1 Virtual Find

1 Benchmark Find

 

3 could not get to due to Hurricane Damage

 

3 DNF

 

I was pretty happy with myself.

 

However I made a couple of mistakes.

1) I trusted mapquest to take me to places. This left me driving in circles for a long time.

2) I didn't go with a big plan. I said I'd go to this area and look, then go to this area. I printed out maps so I wasn't totally choosing at random but close enough.

3) Accidently added 100 Benchmarks in the area to my Garmin which made it hard to look for just the caches.

 

Oh well. I was happy with the trip and it did show me a bunch of places I'd never seen before. There is a good amount of puzzle caches there which is a nice bonus. I had solved a couple of others but was unable to find one and at least one was archived due to weather.

 

I was slightly unhappy as only 3/9 were larger than a micro. I almost got stuck bringing a TB back that was supposed to be down there cause I couldn't find a cache big enough to put it in.

You may want to post this as well on Florida Caching....many of the people whose caches you did are members there.
