motoed
Is it cool to log a benchmark that has already been found? Or is this like a "locationless" where there should be only one logging of a single location? - Ed Quote Link to comment
TUPPERHUNTER
Why not. you found the mark, why not log it. some of the marks have lots of logs. some over fifty, i think Edited September 8, 2004 by TUPPERHUNTER Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
I'm not to proud to log a benchmark others have found, but it is more fun to log a benchmark others could not find. If we only logged benchmarks others hadn't logged then there would be very few out there to log. When you read the descriptions you see the dates for every 'official' log. Then there are the ones that you finally find and you see signs that someone was there recently using it. We even found one that had a Tripod setting directly over it! We got our pictures in a hurry and left. If you see someone else has logged it on Geocaching it is still worth finding just in case they made a mistake and logged the wrong mark. We like to find ALL the benchmarks in an area or along an abandon road and to do that requires that we log some that others have found. It like caching, it's fun to be the first, but it fun just to be able to find them. Have fun hunting them all, John PS: Actually it is more fun to find the 100 + year old marks (Even if someone else got there first)! Quote Link to comment
