+Kitty Hawk
Hi - I'm quite new to caching and so far everything has gone pretty smoothly. I found a jeep yesterday. It has a tag on it and appears to be one escaping from the competition in the US. There are letters (not numbers) on the tag and also the code on the registration screen. When I try to log the find as either a 'retrieve' or a 'grab' the computer tells me that neither codes match. Is there a third number that I need? I notice that the jeep has never been retrived, only grabbed, so I wonder if there is a malfunction. Can anyone help? I eventually managed to force it through and the jeep icon now shows on my table, but the jeep icon also still shows on the cache screen - and GC.com still thinks the jeep is in the cache. - cache - Compton School Cache, nr Winchester. +Cave Troll and Eeyore
Just had a look at the cache page and jeep log. Very strange that it still shows in the cache and as being in your posession. We grabbed one and the tracking number consists of 5 letters and 1 number. It was logged into our hands without any problems. I would suggest contacting the last person to grab & place it to see if they had any problems. If all else fails try contacting GC.com direct. +Kitty Hawk
I've just recieved a reply from the last person and he had a similar problem, although he resolved it himself. - 5 letters and one number - my last number was zero, I thought it was an O. Doh. Many thanks for your thought and for checking it out. Edited September 3, 2004 by Kitty Hawk Quote Link to comment
