Jeremy
It originated from the first tee shirt design that welch is showing above, which was inspired by the sixdegrees logo of the company that went under but has now been revived due to the current excitement over peer based web sites. It was then simplified as the official logo of geocaching.com. In the past it has most often been compared to the microsoft logo, and it seems lots of folks like to use stick figure guys in their logos. The guy in the geocaching logo originally stood on top of a globe with one foot, but the earth seemed unnecessary so it was removed. You can still see that version on the current Groundspeak Travel Bugs. We'll be changing the design to reflect the new Groundspeak logo in the future. Link to comment
