+Algonquin Bound Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Just wondered if anyone had any details on this. I caught a snippet on the news the other night, but missed the full story. Have tuned in to several newscasts looking for it, but haven't heard anything. A Google search turned up this article in a Buffalo newspaper. Strangely, nothing seems to have shown up in any St. Catharines/Niagara area newspapers, or even the Toronto papers. It would be nice to know some details as to exactly where this happened. Very, very sad. Quote
+Couparangus Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Any updates on this tragic story? I'm guessing it doesn't have anything to do with Geocaching. I think of all the outrageous things I did when I was younger and how any one of them could have ended up this way. Cheers C-A Quote
+res2100 Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 (edited) I was talking with a friend about Niagara Falls and Geocaching earlier in the week and she mentioned that a coworker of her husband's had committed suicide by jumping into the Niagara Gorge the other week, so this might be the same hiker that was mentioned here. The guy was from Halton Hills. Edited July 15, 2004 by res2100 Quote
+Couparangus Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 That could be RES. The news doesn't normally report suicides. The US news might have just spun it - or perhaps not got the full story. Quote
