Game, Fish And Park Sign Missing...

I was out tonight scouting a new area to place a geocache.

It is a large game, fish and park area that goes around a small lake.

 

This lake is out in the middle of "no mans land".

 

The main road is 2 miles away.

You take a 2 mile gravel road to the boat landing area. There are GFP signs all along the road and lake.

 

I started hiking from the boat landing area around to the other side of the lake.

I was about 1/4 of the way around, something like 1 mile from were I parked.

 

I came up to a farmers fence. I was preaty sure I was still in the game,fish and park area but I did not see anymore signs.

 

I started to walk the fence line and there on the ground I found a game,fish and parks sign. Post and all on the ground like someone pulled it up.

 

I kept walking as I could see a post up ahead. I got to the post to find it empty.

It looked just like all the other GF&P post that the signs were on, but there was no sign on this post. I think someone removed it. Maybe they could not get the post out of the ground. As far as I could see down the same fence line there were no more signs. I did not walk the whole fence line before I started back for the car.

 

Has anyone run into this before?

Should I call the game warden and let him know what I found?

Tell him you were out Geocaching and found his sign on the ground. He'll appreciate you telling him and you'll show that Geocachers are good people.
