dmac4j
will I be able to download from a Mac computer to a Garmin eTrex Legend? Quote Link to comment
+New England n00b
Depends on: 1) Do you have a 9 pin serial port? If yes, OK. If not, you'll have to buy a Serial-USB adapter ($30 I think?) 2) Does the software you are using to download/upload work on a Mac... if yes, you're all set. If no, "bummer dude." Of course, you could alleviate all that and buy an Intel based PC Quote Link to comment
+flask
there's an application called mac gps pro that will enable you to do this. i forget what it costs, but it works. Quote Link to comment
+The Cheeseheads
There's a good program on getting Macs and GPSrs talking to each other in this thread in the Software forum. Obviously, the one thing you won't be able to do is run the Garmin Updater, as it is a Windows app. The better solution to buying a Wintel laptop is to get VirtualPC. Then you get the best of both worlds. I use it to run Streets and Trips on my Powerbook, but I can still use MaxOS X to manage waypoints. Quote Link to comment
