wickedsprint
So why did Garmin cheap out on the 60 series basemap...probably the only dissapointng thing with the unit, although it does still guarantee a place for my V since it actually has a useful basemap...all the 60C has is friggin interstates...that's it, and some big lakes. No wonder it autoroutes so bloody quick. Quote Link to comment
EtrexRose
Because they are assuming you will buy the City Select to use the awesome autorouting. Dont hate the player, play the hater. Quote Link to comment
Hemlock
Having a smaller basemap leaves more memory to download the maps you actually need. I'd rather be able to download a few extra meg of maps for California than have a bunch of detail in New York that I'll never use. Quote Link to comment
wickedsprint
Well the 76C has more memory as well as the better detail basemap...sounds kind of retaded if you ask me. Edited April 24, 2004 by wickedsprint Quote Link to comment
StormCrow42
And the 76C is about $100 more expensive than the 60C. Gee, I wonder why it has more features (although I've heard rumors that it has the same screen res as the 60c, as opposed to the higher res of the non-color 76). The CitySelect maps are great. +wickedsprint
Yeah well the legend is like 200 cheaper and it has a better basemap...so there goes your logic..LOL Quote Link to comment
jotne
I guess that 70C and 60C uses the same technology, and the only difference is more memory, bigger case (float) and have direct access to tide menu and some other marine menu (Only difference in firmware). Quote Link to comment
