+BASSETSLAVE
Geocaching Otter Creek Park Kentucky We have a new area to geocache; hike and just plain enjoy the great outdoors. Otter Creek Park is located in Meade County, Brandenburg Kentucky. Otter Creek Park is one of the treasures of the Louisville and Jefferson County Metro Parks system. Otter Creek's 2,600 acres offer an abundance of outdoor experiences. The park is located approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Louisville along the Ohio River in Meade County, Kentucky. It is accessible from Dixie Highway, just 14 miles south of the Gene Snyder Freeway. Otter Creek Park has just recently been opened for geocaching. Presently we have permission to set caches in the park if we follow the following guidelines: a. Each Cache Has To Be Ok’d By Mr. Brian Lewis For Location Before It Can Be Set. b. The cache has to be set, for right now, close to already established trails. Try to set the cache where it has low impact on the surroundings. c. Keep bush busting to a minimum. No bush busting is even better. d. Remember low impact while hunting or setting caches in Otter Creek. e. Remember Cache In. Trash Out. Please contact the following for more information: Bassetslave or BlueGrassFan To get ok for setting a cache: Brian.lewis@loukymetro.org Be Safe. Good Caching. Hope To Meet You On The Trail OneDay Soon BassetSlave Quote Link to comment

+kayak-cowboy
I will miss Otter Creek Park. As it has closed for lack of budget funds to keep it operational. Another victim to the horrible economy. Hopefully the state of Kentucky will take this terrific park over and reopen it. Quote Link to comment
+KRnlKilR
If you are saddened that Otter Creek Park has closed, and you would like help with the effort to get it re-opened, I encourage you to attend the Friends of Otter Creek Park meeting Monday, January 26th, 7:00 PM at the Southwest Government Center on Dixie Hwy.
