Team Galaxy
I want to change the green background of one of my cache pages to a deep red colour. I've found lots of threads on how to replace the green background to a tiling picture, but can't figure out how to simply change the colour. Happy to be Markwell'd Quote Link to comment
Team Galaxy
Never mind! I think I've figured this out. If you try to set the background colour in the cache description HTML, it won't work because it is overidden by the green bg colour set by the main page. Seems the only way to do it is to use a background picture. I use a tiny gif coloured red, which tiles to cover the whole of the background. (tried to delete the topic seeing as I'd answered my own question, but won't delete!) Quote Link to comment
Markwell
I've tried a few things, and it looks like you can't change the color with the standard "bgcolor=" code. What you COULD do is make a small (1 pixel?) image of your desired color and upload it to the website. I have a red pixel here. Then add this code to the beginning of your description: <body background="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/3419_9600.jpg"> I tried it out on one of my archived cache pages and it worked just fine. Just make sure the pixel is the color you want and make sure that it won't be so dark as to bleed out black text. Markwell Chicago Geocaching Quote Link to comment

Rabid Bunny
Hey guys, Does it matter which part of the description you put that HTML code in, short or long? And how soon should the change go into effect, say if I edited an existing cache of mine? "Can't stop the bunny" Quote Link to comment
Markwell
I don't think it matters where it is - in the short or long description. Change should be immediate if it is done correctly. Markwell Chicago Geocaching Quote Link to comment
