The AGA (Alabama Geocachers Association) has been working towards having some geocoins produced and we have finally reached the point where we are accepting orders. This is a non-profit venture by our Association and we thought that we would like to share them with the rest of the geocaching community. They can be viewed here: AGA Geocoins The AGA has come a long way in a short amount of time and I'm pleased as punch to be associated with all our members. (feel like I am opening a can of worms) When I looked into it, they want to have access to your bank account basically. That isn't going to happen. However, I was able to get an account tied to a credit card (which has a low limit which I use for online stuff). That seems fine to me. Quote
+Deckyon Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 open a second account. I did that and just push in the ammount I need to cover a purchase. BTW, you do not HAVE to verify a paypal account. They just suggest it. My second bank account is free, 100%. Most banks will set something like this up if you ask the right questions of the right people. Speak to someone close to the branch manager and they can create the accounts. Well, they can with PNC and SYB where I live. Quote

It's a long and hideous story, but American Express said that if it had been a different company than Paypal, they may have refunded the damage, but since it was Paypal, and since Paypal is a never ending source of arbitrations and complaints for Amex, they said forget it. For more fun and info, go to www.paypalsucks.com I am totally serious about this: if you have a Paypal account, it's only a matter of time until you have an insurmountable problem chasing missing money from your credit card or bank account. I am amazed at the fact that our sport/hobby has brought so many people from different backgrounds together with a common cause, geocaching. I feel confident that I can speak for all members of the AGA when I say that we are happy to be associated with others throughout the country and world who share our interests and love of the sport!
