+CYBret
I picked up a Magellan GPSCompanion for my Palm m515 today in the Staples Clearance aisle. The GPS Companion has a hole for a 12v adapter that will plug into my car. However, I'm wondering if the adapter for my Nokia cellphone is the same as this or not. If so, I might save some bucks...if not I might fry my new toy. You see my predicament, right? Anyone know for sure? Thanks! Bret Link to comment
+IVxIV
Does the adapter plug fit into the power port comfortably? Does the GPS companion state anywhere what voltage it's expecting to receive? Does the manual (or pictoral near the port) specify what area is positive and what area is negative? Does the 12v adapter confirm it generates the appropriate voltage and, the polarity is correct? If you confidently answer yes to all these questions then, give it a try. But keep the warranty/receipt for the GPS compion handy in case something goes wrong! +Jamie Z
Generally I've found that playing "Will this thing fit in that hole?" usually has negative consequences. However, if you want to try it, more power to ya! Jamie Link to comment
