+avroair Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 How quickly can we place a new cache in an area where someone else's cache has been archived? I have a couple of caches I have been holding off placing since the previous cache in the area has only just been archived. I have contacted each owner with no response. Guidelines? logical rules? +IV_Warrior Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Well, technically the second the cache is archived, you're free to hide one there. If for some reason you think the hider is going to replace the archived cache, you may want to give him a little time, but don't forget, if someone else beats you to the spot.............. Quote
+av8tors32 Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 In my opinion, once it is archived the space is open to anyone and everyone. I agree with IV. Better get it before someone else does. Quote
+Team GPSaxophone Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 I suppose...why was the first one archived? If it was muggled, you might not want to re-use the spot. Quote
+briansnat Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 (edited) Go for it. You already gave the former owner the courtesy of an e-mail. I think that's all you need. If they had a problem with it, they would let you know. Edited April 5, 2004 by briansnat Quote
enfanta Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 How quickly can we place a new cache in an area where someone else's cache has been archived? As soon as the owners say they are permanently removing the cache. Anything else is poaching. You can't find any place else to set the cache? Quote
+IV_Warrior Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Well, archiving is supposed to be permanent, if you're planning on replacing the cache, you should 'temp disable' so again, the second it's archived, the spot is fair game. Quote
+avroair Posted April 5, 2004 Author Posted April 5, 2004 You can't find any place else to set the cache? The caches i have in mind are puzzle ones with specific places Quote
