Good And Bad News About The 60c

OK Bad news frist! I dropped my GPSMAP 60C like 3 times yesterday!!! The good news it survived!!!! These were some pretty nasty falls. The first on my hardwood floors from about my 5'8" height, no damage at all (battery compartment door came off slightly). The second was the worst, while riding my mountain bike down the local trace-paved trail- I had the unit clipped to the shoulder strap on my camelbak. The swivel joint came unscrewed from the unit and it bit the pavement (asphalt). This put some scratches and scraps on the side of the unit, not the screen!! Third was just in my car, hitting the dash on the way down.

 

Each drop the gps only shut itself off. maybe the batteries came loose? Then I just turned it back on, got sats. like normal!!!

 

So don't fear, DROP that unit!!!!!

 

Hope noone else has to experience it!!!
