Guus Geluk
Hi, I live in the caribbean and just bought a Magellan Meridian Platinum with the US basic map. It also has a world map with very little detail and a serial cable to hook up to my pc. I brouwsed the web to find software maps to load into my GPS for the Caribbean Islands, but all I find is US, Europe and other highly populated areas. I am now thinking of making my own maps, but does anyone know how to load them into the Meridian? What software do I need for this? Looking forward to your replies. Guus Geluk Quote Link to comment
+Stunod
As far as I know, there is no way to upload a non-MapSend map into a Magellan product. There are programs that do this for Garmin, however. Quote Link to comment
mix_
The only Possibility is - use MapSend WorldWideBasemap software. The detail level of WWB is far not so good as in MapSend Topo or Streets software, but - it's better, than no Map at all Quote Link to comment
+RockyRiver
I too have been needing maps of the Caribbean islands and have had no luck finding them for my Magellan Meridian. If you come across something let me know. Quote Link to comment
+Tek465m
Search Yahoo! Groups for MobileMapper Office. That will get you in the right direction. It doesn't have pre-made maps, but it will allow you to create your own from tracks, or if you import ESRI SHP files. Quote Link to comment
+DougsBrat
http://www.bicimapas.com.mx/Mapas_GPS_Magellan.htm shows samples of some custom maps, They even teach a course in how it is done. Also there is a Yahoo Group called "mapsend_format" for creatng Mag maps. Quote Link to comment
