+timotab
As an expat Brit in the US, I thought it might be interesting to look at the British side of things. I noticed that when I click on "map it" for a British waypoint, there's no map. I did do something interesting though. I downloaded the Waypoint into my eTrex, changed the Setup info from hddd:mm.mmm' to "British Grid", which gave me 2 letters and 2 lots of 5 digits. From my school days that seemed to be an Ordnance Survey map reference. The UK is divided up into large sections that the letters refer to. Then the first 5 digits are the eastings, and the second five are northings. Because there are 5 digits that's accurate to within 1 metre. I went to http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/ and typed in those coordinates, and it certainly went to the right place according to the description given. Could you guys not come to an agreement with OS to be able to convert and link those maps in to the GC website? Timothy Link to comment
+MarcB
We have something pretty darn good as it is... http://stats.guk2.com/caches/flash_map.php The OS maps (all of them) will cost an absolute bomb though! MarcB Link to comment
