Does The Geko Float?

Recommended Posts

Ive found out on the garmin web page that the Geko is waterproof, up to a point. But it doesn't say anything about whether or not it will float.

If not, does anybody have an idea? There doesn't seem to be any place to attache any kind of floating device. Or maybe Im totaly missing something...?

Art Carnage...

I can tell you from experience that the Gecko does not float! As a matter of fact, it's a real brick!

On the positive side of things, it is water-resistant...just don't leave it in the drink too long.

As for a solution to the problem, you can check out the containers made by Otter Box or by AquaPac.

I own an Otter Box container for my PDA and I highly recommend them.

Fabien.

There is a threaded metal screw hole in the back that was originally used to mount the unit in it's display case packaging. I'm sure you could put that to use to use it to attach something. Otherwise you need to use something like a cell phone case as a starting point.
