Art Carnage Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Ive found out on the garmin web page that the Geko is waterproof, up to a point. But it doesn't say anything about whether or not it will float. If not, does anybody have an idea? There doesn't seem to be any place to attache any kind of floating device. Or maybe Im totaly missing something...? Quote
+-=(GEO)=- Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) Art Carnage... I can tell you from experience that the Gecko does not float! As a matter of fact, it's a real brick! On the positive side of things, it is water-resistant...just don't leave it in the drink too long. As for a solution to the problem, you can check out the containers made by Otter Box or by AquaPac. I own an Otter Box container for my PDA and I highly recommend them. Regards, Fabien. Edited January 2, 2004 by -=(GEO)=- Quote
+GeckoGeek Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 There doesn't seem to be any place to attache any kind of floating device. Or maybe Im totaly missing something...? There is a threaded metal screw hole in the back that was originally used to mount the unit in it's display case packaging. I'm sure you could put that to use to use it to attach something. Otherwise you need to use something like a cell phone case as a starting point. Quote
