I just had to archive my cache until I can replace the container. Is thewre a way to un-archive it when I do?

Well you've already done it so now you'll have to email the site and ask them to do it for you. There is a button to temporarily disable it which is what I've used before.

Try contacting the original approver, listed at the bottom of the cache listing. Or email contact@geocaching.com and provide the GC number so they can look it up and unarchive it for you.

You're confusing Archive with Temporary Disable.

 

An archived cache never shows up on a search page.

 

A disabled cache shows up on all search pages with a line through it.

 

You're right, a disabled cache indicates that it will be reactived sometime soon--although oftentimes it's not.

 

(Maybe they should be called Temporarily Disabled and Permanently Disabled. )

To add to his info:

If a cache is disabled for more than a couple of months try and contact the cache owner to check the status. Maybe they'll archive it.

If the contact doesn't work email your local cache reviewer.
