+Team Drought Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 I am new to TB's and would like to know if it's possible to make your own travel bug tags. I live in Germany, and getting them is difficult. Any help or ideas would be great. Maybe someone knows where I can get them locally... Tom Stuttgart, Germany Quote
+brad.32 Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 (edited) Making the tags is not really a problem. Many people make additional instruction tags for their bugs that may or may not include the tracking number. The Groundspeak tracking number tags are very sturdy and I suppose the price reflects that, but the big thing is the tracking of the number by a tracking service, which geocaching/Groundspeak provides. To get them locally, you would have to get Groundspeak to ship to Germany, which seems to be the problem, or get a geocacher to ship them to you. Edited November 28, 2003 by brad.32 Quote
+pjmorse Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Given the earlier discussion of how the tags cost less when you buy a larger batch, maybe someone here who's buying some could double their order and use the savings to mail a chunk of the order to Germany? Seems like the heaviest part is the chain, so if you just sent the tags it wouldn't be very expensive. Quote
+Nybbler Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 I'm going to order some for me and some fellow cachers here in Freiburg, Germany. Do you want to join in? Has anyone done this in Germany yet? What's the cheapest webstore? Quote
