Karl360
I am looking into buying a new GPS and have noticed that there are many options when it comes memory. I live in hawaii (Oahu) and will want to download the detailed hawaii topo map onto the GPS. How much memory do you guys think that will require? I dont want to spend a ton of money on memory if I wont be needing it.. Yet I dont want to be stuck with something that will have too "little" memory for what I would like to load up. +wickedsprint
All of ohahu on city select takes 1.72 mb, so I imagine alot less on topo. This is with garmin city select. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
27 map segments for all of Hawaii = 2.28MB in Topo version 3.02. 1 map segment for all of Hawaii = 3.54MB in MetroGuide version 5. 1 map segment for all of Hawaii = 2.31MB in MetroGuide version 4.01. Quote Link to comment
bnolan
Just put my Garmin Mapsource Topo cd in the drive so I could answer your question: The 4 topo map sections that cover Oahu take up 528 KB. The 27 topo map sections that cover all of the islands take up 2.28 MB Hope that helps. Added later: Dang, Neo Geo types faster than me. Edited November 27, 2003 by bnolan Quote Link to comment
