Toron
Like pretty much everyone who burns brain cells pursuing this sport, I enjoy just getting out there and looking for the cache. However, I really appreciate it when people take the time to add a premise to the cache and tend to the finer details of the cache page. I have seen where some have used HTML (I assume) to change font and font color in the posting. I have seen cache pages with themed wallpapers. The point of this thread is that I would like to know how to do some of this stuff and where some exceptional examples are for inspiration. I DO know that Darkmoon has posted the best examples I have seen thus far. Check em out to see what I am talking about, but I still don't know how to do it myself. Quote Link to comment
+Criminal
This is the format I’m using for my long hike caches. I want to separate the needed information from the fluff. I get frustrated trying to pick out the ten words of cache info from the 7000 other words about the history, the site, or whatever else the placer thought was relevant. The html is nothing special, I build it in FrontPage and paste the code into the cache page. Then I load the pics, and finally add the pics to the cache page and rebuild it all in FrontPage again using the GC.com picture links. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
Tahosa and Sons
Criminal nice cache page. Could you possibly show us the codes needed to put some pictures in the Cache description. I have some caches that need a little fixing up. And if I can remember there was some discussion in previous threads on how to do some of this stuff. Tahosa - Dweller of Mountain Tops. +Criminal
Like I said, I'm building it in FrontPage and doing a copy/paste of the html code right from there. I really don't know all the code, I'm letting FP do all that. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment

+AmishHacker
Sorry about the test post. I like pages that are dressed up. I do a little dressing up on my cache pages (Click) but have not changed many colors yet. I really like using "The Selector" .-=Amish_Hacker=-. Quote Link to comment
Toron
This is a great example to add to the one that Criminal posted. The FrontPage suggestion is very helpful for many aspects. I don't know if that will help for the wallpaper though. ?? Oh yeah, and this is the first time I have tried to post a link on these boards, so I hope it worked. Quote Link to comment
Toron
One Two Three Five Four There are a few more examples of stuff by Darkmoon. How do I DO some of this stuff?? Quote Link to comment
Toron
Jomarac, that is exactly the type of page that gets me going! I like just finding a cache, but a page like that invokes thoughts of a full-blown adventure before you even step outside! By the responses, it looks like I am not alone. Thanks for the great example. It inspires me to keep working to figure this stuff out. I am hoping for more great examples/ideas on page design as well as tips on how the cache owner did it. +Red Dragon
This is my first effort at trying to dress up the cache page. I don't know anything about html, and I used Front Page to do the whole thing. Unfortunately the creepy midi sound file does not work, and the red letters were supposed to be dripping blood. The smaller letters were supposed to be in an Old English type script. Not everything translates on the geo cache page. I'm sure that many are grateful that the midi file did not work. Next I have to figure out how to make it just be a button for optional sound. I was pleased to see that the animated gif worked, though. Here is the address for my first effort: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=96939 Quote Link to comment
