holmzee
Is there any way to get Appalachian Trail map sections into my Garmin Vista? Is there a mapsource product that covers the AT? Or maybe some data base of the GPS community's recorded tracks of Trails that arent mapped? Is track trading even a viable idea? I'd love to actually have the AT mapped in my unit... trail maps would seem more necessary than interstate maps. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
National Geographic has a trail mapping section on their Topo! website. Never used it myself but it might have what you are looking for. Quote Link to comment
+Clffhngr
The National Geo maps are great. Esp. the Trails Illustrated CDs. But the maps CAN NOT be upload to Garmin. Routes, waypoints and tracks, yes. but not the maps. While I haven't looked at the eastern region maps. I have been pleased with Garmins Topo MapSource for the west. The only complaint I have so far is that they are only at 1:100,000 scale Quote Link to comment
+WildcatRegi
Here's all the official GPS information about the AT: AT GPS Stuff You can download this information in most standard formats - you'll see the links. Good luck. - Be sure to download the coordinates of the shelter areas. "The hardest thing to find is something that's not there!" Quote Link to comment
