Just wanted to share my latest project

Branching out from the pocket pc faq Trippy and I worked on I've put up the framework for a new geocaching related site. The idea is to become the brighthand so to speak of geocaching. There's not a whole lot on the site at the moment but we're working on that. In the future I hope to cover recent product news as well as in depth reviews.

 

I could also use a hand from anyone who's interested in helping review various geocaching products etc.. I could really use some help on the palm side of things since I'm a pocket pc guy

 

Still very much a work in progress but stop by and let me know what you think.

Yes Mr. Kablooey has become a partner in crime of sorts for this project.

 

My eventual goal is to get a team of geocachers with varied fields of expertise contrubuting reviews and info.

I could write up how I got my Pocket PC Phone to communicate with my GPS (GPSV). Virtually every vendor online told me it couldn't be done with my particular PPC. But I refused to accept that.

 

Oh, Toshiba wanted to sell me a 230 cable that "might" work. (choke)

 

Turns out all I needed was a 60 serial cable and a null serial modem. Total cost 68 bucks!!

 

No fussing with USB cables and adapters or drivers. Just a serial to serial solution.

 

You would't believe the number of hours I spent on google trying to find out how to make my Thera talk to my GPSV. The utlimate solution was so brainlessly simple I'm still kicking myself.

Something like that would definitely be helpful. Feel free to submit it when you get the chance. I doubt you're the only one who has had these questions and couldn't locate the answer(s).

 

Also any Mac-specific stuff you'd like to include/review would be awesome. Better let me approve those submissions as Crash is a little biased.
