I had 5 finds over the weekend and that's with the case on. The one thing I don't like about the case is the glare that it seems to put on the screen, like it wasn't hard enought to see already! You're right that it interferes with the RAM mount, but I usually have the thing IN the RAM mount when I'm on my ATV, and when I dismount to go on foot to find the cache, I take it out of there and pop it into the carrying case. The problemn with the Velcro "latch" is that the Vista's lanyard gets stuck on the Velcro al the time shrededing the lanyard. The lanyard hasn't broken in 10 months - just looks like heck.
