+JamesJM
And forget PC-Mobile...I've tried....I don't know WHAT the problem is but I can't order one on-line through them. Been there done that... SOOOOOOOOOOO...anyone know another place to get this cable? I've looked, failed, pouted, looked again, cursed, and finally completely given up. I'm good at that. - JamesJM Quote Link to comment

+Rubberhead
JamesJM, You can do it with what I call the "Lego" approach. First: Get a serial sync cable from Dell. Next: Get a DB9 null modem. Here's Radio Shack's: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F004%5F002%5F011%5F000&product%5Fid=26%2D264 Next: You will need a gender changer to make this all fit together: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F004%5F002%5F011%5F000&product%5Fid=26%2D231 Connect the Null Modem with the gender changer and then connect the serial cable from the Vista and the Dell Serial cable into either end of the Null Modem/Gender Changer and you're done. You can make you're own null modem and gender changer by taking two DB9 Male blanks and soldering pin 5 of one connect to pin 5 of the other. Then solder pin 2 of one connector to pin 3 of the other. Then solder the remaining pin 3 to the remaining pin 2. I build one of those over the weekend it cost me $3.12 and works to connect my Vista to an HP iPAQ and a Jornada 520. I hope this helps. +Rubberhead
Check my last post against this: http://www.wormley.com/axim/ It appears that the Dell Serial cable is not a straight serial cable like the iPAQ and Jornadas are. It may not be possible for a Dell Axim to "speak" serial without a conversion that makes this process to difficult. Here's what may be a straight serial cable for the Dell: http://www.pdyno.com/secafordeax.html Sorry but it looks like you've got more of a problem than I originally thought. +JamesJM
Thanks for the information. Another search may have proved "gold". http://www.thesupplynet.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=6889 This would be absolutely PERFECT..power for both PDA and GPS plus data connect. However, it's 'in production'. We'll have to wait until the 18th to see if they come through. - JamesJM Quote Link to comment
+RobAGD
The Axim has some weirdness going on with its cables, I have read a few differnt approaches to making cable for it. Should be intreting if this cable works. -Robert Quote Link to comment
