Gawangawoosle
I'm thinking of hiding a multicache and want to know something. I know that physical stages have to be at least .1 mile from any existing cache. I don't know what classifies a physical stage. For example, if I want players to obtain information for the final coordinates at a sign, does the sign have to be .1 mile away from another cache or is a physical stage just for containers that you place that have clues in them? geoawareUSA9
Generally, if you put it out there, like a tag, it's a physical stage. Whereas if you direct folks to an existing object, like a sign or a plaque, it's a virtual stage. 2 Quote Link to comment

+niraD
The Check for minimum distance section of the guidelines says it this way: "A physical stage is any object placed by the cache owner, such as a container or a tag." There is more info in that section of the guidelines, as well as in the Waypoints and stages page in the Help Center. Quote Link to comment
