+wigglesworth Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Travelling from the UK. We have frequently travelled to the USA and used the "three" pay as you go sim - costs £10 for 30 days. We only use it for data for adventures - plus the geocaching app. Have been informed that the SIM does not support Canada connection. What do other cachers use when visiting Canada? Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) Hi from a Canadian. You might have better luck skimming the TripAdvisor forums, where the question comes up regularly, and with replies usually from a visitor perspective, eg what's available at the airport or first stop in town. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g153339-i49-Canada.html PS, if you search TripAdvisor for "SIM", switch results from Relevance (poor) to Date (good). Locals' perspective: I use Koodo Prepaid (SIM bought at shopping mall kiosk) which is cheap and uses the reliable Telus network; same parent company. I originally used a 7-11 Speakout SIM (bought at convenience store of same name), but was disappointed with the wilderness coverage on their network, which used Rogers at the time. Lately I've been seeing SIMs at the checkout of my local grocery store, and at Dollarama. No idea if those are good SIMs or not. Edited July 1, 2024 by Viajero Perdido Quote
+wigglesworth Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Thanks for the reply - plan now is to buddy up with a Canadian using Rogers. Failing that we will go for a month sim within Canada Quote
