I was recently puzzled by the fact that I could click the edit button for my post, but then could not edit anything as the text was read-only.

Then I realized, that this might be due to the fact that it was an announcement of my own event which I tried to edit. 

I guess it's ok to disallow changing announcements, but then the edit button should be disabled.
