+Team Lankidden
The Viewranger OS mapping app has been our constant companion for eleven years of GeoCaching. Apart from the obvious benefit of immediately displaying location on any previously downloaded Ordnance Survey map, individual POIs could be added and displayed while on the trail, Co-ords of any chosen type would be displayed in realtime, plus straight line distance between POIs could also be displayed. Finally any GeoCaching Cache info GPX file could also be uploaded to Vewranger to display all Cache sites on the downloaded maps. This was all invaluable when searching for Caches, and for us, indispensable when hiding Caches. Unfortunately, Viewranger having now "merged" with Outdoor Active, none of these facilities are available.with the Outdoor Active app. Strangely enough this so called "merger" was launched as being of great benefit and improvement for all Viewranger users. Nothing of the sort, it is a mega downgrade. My question is this. Is there any OS Mapping app available which includes the versatility outlined above for Apple iOS devices? We have been unable to find any apps remotely offering these features on the App Store. Many thanks Neil & Jackie C aka Team Lankidden Quote Link to comment
+SpiritGuide
Don't know of any iOS app, but Geooh GO for Android can use the OS Ordnance Survey map tiles server. Caches show on top of the map just like any other map layer. Sign up for an API key and use it in the tile server URL. Quote Link to comment
