+STCheesesticks Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Hello, I am new to GC. I geocache with my Grandma. My mother geocached with my Great Grandfather. My Great Grandfather lives in Tennessee. I would like to start a trackable here with its destination being my Great Grandfather in Tennessee. Would it be possible to do this? I thought we could both watch its trip across the states. Any help is much appreciated. Quote
+kunarion Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 You can type a goal for your Trackable, to go to a certain town or state or Geocache. But once placed into a cache, it's in the wind. Set your expectations accordingly. 1 Quote

+cerberus1 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 That's very optimistic. Good luck with your plan. Maybe adding that a relative it's supposed to go to is also a geocacher might help. Make everything very clear in your goal. Quote

For sure - go for it.... my advice - don't attach anything expensive or with particular sentimental value.... these things go missing, sometimes very quickly. You may have fun watching it head the wrong direction too, or overseas (maybe not so much at present though!). We have TBs all over the world now, and for $8 each its cheap entertainment to send out more when they go MIA, and a buzz when one reappears mysteriously after a year or two in the abyss..... 1 Quote
+lee737 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Also - if you have a specific goal in mind - put that goal on a laminated card attached to the TB... people are more likely to read that at the cache and leave it if they aren't heading that way.... 1 2 Quote
+STCheesesticks Posted July 24, 2021 Author Posted July 24, 2021 Thank you all for being so helpful. I am going to give this a try and hope that one of them makes it. If not, it will still be good fun for a little while. Fingers crossed! 3 Quote
