Bug: seeking nearest waymark within category exclusions

I have put up with the following bug for years.  Can it actually be repaired?

 

While searching for the nearest waymark within any given waymark category, selecting the boxes to "exclude waymarks I've visited" or "exclude my waymarks" has not worked for me...ever.

For whatever reason I had never tried "Exclude My Waymarks" while searching in a category so I just now tried it.

Sure enough, no go.

Searching "All Waymarks" (no category) works though.  Kinda strange.

The link "Nearest Waymarks" opens /wm/search.aspx with the according parameters, while "Nearest whatever-category" opens the page /cat/details.aspx.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no "/cat/search.aspx" function.
