Wha happened, and how do I fix it back? As far as I can remember, they've always been zipped. Or at least for many, many years. I'm not aware of a way to directly download just the GPX files. There are usually two GPX files (one for the caches and one for the additional waypoints), so it would require two download links, and I don't remember every seeing something like that.
