So, I could have sworn that I got NH at some point when I was in the north east.  

I've searched my email for a deleted log email (I've only ever gotten one, and it was an accident by the CO, who asked up to repost).  

I typically number my finds, but it appears that Cachly had gotten a little messed up during the time period that I was in the area.  

I checked my souvenirs, and do not have the New Hampshire souvenir.  

So here's the question:

If I had gotten the state and my log was deleted at some point, would I retain the souvenir?

I believe it's a bug in the system that souvenirs are "sticky"; they don't disappear.

 

Try a fake log on a cache in, say Germany ("Greetings from...") then delete it. Good luck getting rid of the souvenir.

 

... unless they've fixed that lately, which I doubt.

 

So, likely you never logged that find.

Agreed.  They're there forever unless you ask HQ for them to go permanently. 

We've kept one that was logged incorrectly (deleted years ago, but still there...) as kind of a test on whether it gets fixed, or we finally get a delete function.

This is as I suspected.  I must have made a mistake.  

...guess that I'll have to plan a trip up there and get both Vermont and New Hampshire.
