Trackable question

You create a "Drop" log while posting your cache log.  Steps are here:
https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=30&pgid=151

That will post a new, blank log when you submit the cache log.  I often next go to the Trackable's page to type some text and post photos into the Drop log.

But you first need to "Retrieve" it, following steps in that same article, so that it's shown in your possession.  At that point you'll see it in your profile under "Trackables Moved/Discovered".

I found a trackable and am going to move it to a different location.

I logged it here but how do I log it when I drop it off to the next location?

You don't have any trackables on your profile.  Use the helpful link kunarion gave for Retrieving it from a cache, or if you Grabbed it from another cacher before Dropping it into another cache.  We've spent a lot of time trying to correct logs when found...

We like to add that we grabbed a trackable (by name if there's a few) in our log.  For example, in looking to help you out, I couldn't find which cache you got it from, so not sure where you may have "logged" it.  :)

+1

If I take any item from a cache, I mention it (but not posting a Trackable item's tracking number), and often, post a photo if it's a Trackable.  Sometimes that's the only photo ever posted.

I hate seeing a log about "traded TBs" as the only reference to either TB, by some cacher who then falls out of this dimension.  So I never impose that on others.  They shouldn't have to guess what I took (or traded), I make it pretty clear.  I also will not drag others' TBs around with me forevermore.  But that's just me. :cute:
