Keystone Posted February 15, 2018 Share Posted February 15, 2018 A "Needs Maintenance" log doesn't count as a find, so you'll need to enter another online log ("Found It") to earn your smiley. Reason for this: Sometimes a "Needs Maintenance" log is appropriate when the geocacher doesn't want to log a find. Examples include a DNF because there was no container and log at all to be signed ("found the hangar and the Velcro, but no container"), or when a person who found the cache last year goes to check up on the cache and discovers that it's missing from the hiding spot where they previously found the cache. 2 Quote Link to comment
