+peem Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 What have I (or more to the point, my grandson) done to my gps? All was well until yesterday. Today I d/l nine caches. I went out to find them and there were only four on the gps! When I came home I tried to d/l them again and it said they were already there and did I want to override (or something like that) them. I clicked yes but they still don't show.I deleted the ones I had found and d/l a few more. Again only four were showing. Now my grandson swears he hasn't touched it but if he didn't what could have gone wrong? Is there a way to restrict the number you can d/l? This is an Oregon 700 by the way. Quote
+simplysup Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 The caches are on your unit (which is why it said they were already there when you went to re-download them). It's more likely that you, or your grandson, have inadvertently set a filter. I'm not sure of the exact path to check this, as I don't possess a 700, but look for an option to set/unset various geocache filters, like difficulty and terrain. See if a filter has been set which is restricting the caches viewed. Nigel Quote
+peem Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Thanks simplysup. I had looked at my filters but hadn't noticed the 'terrain' had been changed as everything else was the same!! Now if I can just get hold of him before his mum . Thanks again. Quote
+dprovan Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Not familiar with this GPSr, but when this happens to me, it's because my GPSr isn't showing me caches that I've already found. Quote
