What to buy for older adult

Recommended Posts

From a usability standpoint, the Garmin Oregon series will likely be the easiest for anyone used to using a cell phone.

But... the hardest thing for new users of any GPS to overcome is how to load geocaches on the device in the first place. The new Oregon 700s are a step in the direction of alleviating this problem, but the process of direct download for bulk information is still more convoluted than using a cell phone directly.

If he can create a Pocket Query, run it, download it, and install the GPX files to an external drive (the GPS), then an Oregon 600 or 700 ought to do just fine.
