I've used my phone successfully sometimes (when there's a good signal). When there's no signal, my phone is horrible. We go about 1-2x/month and look for 1-10 geocaches. I'm considering getting the eTrex10. It's possible that I'll continue geocaching when my son gets to be a Boy Scout (middle+high school). I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

If it is within budget, I would think about the 20 or another unit. The Etrex 10 lacks expandable memory. There are better mapping options, including free maps, with at least a 20 - the 10 does not officially support maps other than the limited base. Color display is also nice. Quote Link to comment
