+BigLinc16
Hi all, I'm going to be in San Francisco in a week and I want to find a few cool caches while I am there. Can anyone give me a few awesome listings that really are a must find while I am in the area? Preferably located in the city or just outside. Thanks for the help. -BigLinc16 Quote Link to comment

+Walts Hunting
No need to wait for someone's opinion. You can do it yourself. Use the search page to search for San Francisco, click on the favorites column to sort and the most favorite will be at the top. Quote Link to comment
+dprovan
Naturally it depends on what you're interested in, but generally San Francisco is a good place to go do whatever tourist things you want to do, and when you get there, look to see what caches are nearby, 'cuz there will almost certainly be some. About the only specific advice on that score is that Golden Gate Park is a great place to walk around, and it's packed with caches. Aside from that, here are a few multicaches that I'd suggest to give you a chance to explore various interesting areas of the city: Sutro Baths is a fascinating ruin on the west end of the city. Great place to visit even if you aren't caching. Rara Avis takes you on a tour of various places not far from China Town related to "The Maltese Falcon" by Dashiell Hammett, an interesting way to see how he wove his story into the actual city. (By the way, I notice this is disabled, but I read the logs as saying the CO only disabled it because he's no longer in a position to maintain it, but not because it currently needs any maintenance.) Chinatown Tour. This is a complicated picture cache, so be sure to look at it in advance. If you're into puzzle caches, there are plenty around. Don't overlook the duck that was recently added out in the bay: those caches are spread all over the city (although not, it turns out, generally in areas tourists would be interested in). +coachstahly
Just sent a FB message to a good friend who lives in SF and has been caching the area pretty well. She should be able to help out, if she has time to get on here. Quote Link to comment
